Zach Foster was hired as Pitt-Bradford's new head baseball coach in July 2016, taking over for long-time coach Bret Butler.

The 2019 Panthers picked up 16 total wins and nine AMCC victories in Foster's third full season at the helm. Junior pitcher Alex Andrzejewski and freshman utility player Kevin Rehak earned All-AMCC honors, while pitcher Ryan Boyer picked up  National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Pitcher of the Week Honorable Mention honors after fanning 16 opposing batters in his lone start of the season.

In his second full season leading the Panthers in 2018, he guided Pitt-Bradford to one of its most successful seasons in recent time. The team finished 17-16 overall and 10-8 in AMCC play, as the 10 regular-season conference victories were the program's most since 2010. As a result, Pitt-Bradford earned the No. 4 seed in the AMCC Championship Tournament and hosted Penn State-Altoona for the First Round.

Under Foster's tutelage, junior catcher Austin Parent put together one of the best seasons in the country as he led the nation in hitting (.496) and on-base percentage (.616) while finishing second in NCAA Division III with a .916 slugging percentage. Parent became the first player in Pitt-Bradford baseball history to receive All-America status, as he was named to the First Team for both D3Baseball and the American Baseball Coaches Association. Parent was also voted the AMCC Player of the Year, the fourth player in Pitt-Bradford history.

In addition to Parent's red-hot year, senior second baseman Jay Clinger and junior pitcher Ryan Boyer earned All-AMCC Second Team honors. Foster was instrumental in Clinger's impressive feat of earning All-AMCC honors all four years as a Panther.

At the helm in 2017, he led the Panthers to 16 wins, half of which coming against AMCC opponents, and a trip to the conference semifinals. In addition to the team's third-place finish in the conference tournament, Dalton Renn, Austin Parent, Jay Clinger and Tyler Hoops earned All-AMCC honors, and Brody Wood received the AMCC FAR Award.

Foster also mentored former pitcher Ryan Boyer to a career in professional baseball. After his five successful seasons with the Panthers, Boyer finished his collegiate career with a transfer to Division I Canisius. After college, he spent a season with the Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association of Professional Baseball. His success at all of these levels led to a contract with the Toronto Blue Jays Organization, where he has reached the AAA level.

Born and raised in Bradford, Foster played for Pitt-Bradford from 2005-2008, compiling a 5-2 record and 5.77 ERA in 18 appearances. Foster was drafted in the 49th round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Pirates, the first player in the history of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference to do so. He advanced as far as Double-A with the Pirates before returning to Pitt-Bradford as an assistant coach in 2013.

Thrust into a larger role during the 2016 season, Foster led the Panthers to a strong finish, including a late-season sweep of Penn State Altoona and a tough two-game loss, 6-1 and 4-3 in 11 innings, to Penn State-Behrend in the conference playoffs. The Panthers had a roster this past spring that included 14 freshmen and seven sophomores and just two seniors.

Foster graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in sport and recreation management from Pitt-Bradford in 2012, and most recently, worked in the university's admissions office, a position he'll be leaving to assume full-time duties as head baseball coach.

In addition, he earned his Master's degree in exercise science from California University of Pennsylvania.

Foster currently resides in Bradford with his wife, Hannah, and their sons, Ezekiel and Zayn.
