Shaun Redman 1999
A native of Fillmore, NY, Shaun Redman played on the men’s basketball team from 1996 to 1999. He graduated with a degree in history/political science and later earned his master’s degree in education from St. Bonaventure University in 2001.
Shaun was a hardworking post-player for the Panthers and was willing to do whatever was asked of him to help the team. As a three-year starter for the men's basketball program, the 6-foot-8-inch center ranks fourth at Pitt-Bradford in career free throws made with 363, is fifth in career field goals made with 491 and is seventh in career points with 1,346.
Shaun was recognized as an NAIA Northeast Region First Team and ECAC Player of the Week twice in his sophomore year in 1996-97 in leading the Panthers to a 19-8 record and a trip to the NAIA Northeast Regional championship game.
The teams Shaun played on at Pitt-Bradford had a four-year record of 71 wins and 34 losses, including a record of 20-6 and 10-0 in the AMCC'S first season of play in 1997-98. Shaun was an AMCC First Team All conference his junior year, as well as ECAC South Region Second Team. However, the milestone of the 1,000-point club was his individual highlight that season. Shaun’s “team-first” play earned him an AMCC Second Team All Conference his senior year in 1998-99.
Calista Walker 2005
A native of Towanda, PA, Calista Walker was a transfer two-year starter on the softball team and a three-year starter on the women’s basketball team. Calista was an administration of justice major and graduated in 2005.
As a dual student- athlete, Calista was a very talented and gritty player. She was the anchor on both squads and the heart of the Panther lineups. The bigger the game, the bigger the performance from her. As a basketball player, she scored 610 points. She knew her role on the team and played it flawlessly. On the diamond, though, is where she shined. As the Panther’s second baseman and a fixture in the infield, she was one of the best defensive players to have played at Pitt-Bradford. As a hitter she could hit for average and for power and could hit to all fields. Nobody had more fun on a softball diamond, and she never came off the field with a clean uniform. She was an integral part of the 2004 and 2005 AMCC championship teams. The 2004 squad also made the first-ever post-season appearance in the ECAC tournament, and the 2005 squad made the school’s first trip to the NCAA tournament.
Calista owns the highest career batting average with .415 at Pitt-Bradford. In 2005, she set single-season records with 64 hits and 20 doubles. These marks also led the AMCC, and she was ranked sixth in the NCAA in doubles per game. She was also ranked second in the AMCC in batting average and RBIs and was ranked 18th and 32nd respectively in Division III in that same season. She was named AMCC First Team in 2005 and to the second team in 2004. In 2005, she was also named ECAC South Region First Team, National Fastpitch Coaches Association East Region 2nd team and NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team.
