Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Athletics department inducted two new members to the Hall of Fame on Saturday. DeAnna Johnson Ragan '01 and Eric Schenfield '09 were added to the Hall of Fame at the Alumni Weekend Awards Dinner on September 24th.

Johnson Ragan, a member of the women’s soccer team, played in 68 games for the Panthers, starting in 66 contests. At that time, she set career program records in goals (34) assists (27) and points (95). She was named to the AMCC All-Conference team in 1999, 2000 and 2001. She was also named the team’s most valuable player in 1999 and 2001.

“DeAnna was a very versatile player who played every position on the field and played them well,” said former coach Peter Butler, who now is an assistant with the men’s team. “She led our team on the field and off, and it is not a surprise that she’s had success in her professional career.”

Johnson Ragan, who earned a nursing degree at Pitt-Bradford, works as a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She also has worked on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and serves a preceptor, charge nurse and neonatal resuscitation instructor.

Schenfield was a four-year starter for the men’s golf team between 2005 and 2008. He received All-Conference honors in all four years and was named to the third team in 2005 and 2006, the first team in 2007, and second team in 2008. He also was named Pitt-Bradford Male Athlete of the Year in 2007.

“Eric was a student-athlete every coach dreams about having in their program,” said Head Men’s Golf Coach Keith Stauffer. “He excelled in the classroom, on the golf course and was always cognizant of all his responsibilities of being a student-athlete.”

Schenfield is a regional sales manager at KOA Speer Electronics and is very active in the community. He serves on the YMCA Annual Fundraising Committee, the Pennhills Club Golf Committee and Board of Directors, and was instrumental in developing the Terry Reilly Golf Foundation.

Schenfield also has worked to give back to the program he was once a part of. He chairs the committee that holds an annual fundraising golf tournament that benefits the golf programs at Pitt-Bradford and St. Bonaventure University. To date, the tournament has raised more than $50,000, which has directly impacted the golf program and the experiences of its student-athletes.
