Pitt-Bradford Athletics To Host Mental Health Awareness Day October 6

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Department of Athletics will host Mental Health Awareness Day Saturday, Oct. 6.

The Kessel Athletic Complex and KOA Arena will be busy that day, with the Panthers' men's and women's soccer teams hosting La Roche and the women's volleyball team hosting SUNY Canton and Thiel for a tri-match.

Both venues will have information tables set up staffed by Pitt-Bradford student-athletes.

All three Panthers' teams in action at home that day will wear green t-shirts for Mental Health Awareness Day during warmups.

The event, which will be co-sponsored by the Pitt-Bradford Counseling Services, is aiming to create an open dialogue on mental health.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Day, Pitt-Bradford will launch a social media campaign using the hashtag #StopTheStigma.

Two days prior to the Saturday athletic events on Oct. 4, the Pitt-Bradford Counseling Services will hold Depression Screening Day from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the University Room.

On Saturday, the day will begin at the KOA Arena as the women's volleyball team will play matches at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., while the women's soccer team will kickoff at the Kessel Athletic Complex at 1 p.m. with the men's team playing after at 3:15 p.m.
