Maslowski Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford volleyball team has had a player earn AMCC Player of the Week Honors for the third time this season as Kayla Maslowski was named Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Maslowski, a sophomore from Lancaster, N.Y., had 45 digs in two matches for the Panthers this week. She picked up 12 in an easy sweep of Penn College and then collected 33 in a tough five-set loss to Mount Aloysius. She also added four service aces and nine assists on the week.

This is the second time in her career that Kayla has been named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week, as she also won the award on October 25th, 2001. Tabitha Walker and Stephanie Carson had previously won player of the week honors earlier this season.

Maslowski and the Panthers will return to KOA Arena on Wednesday, October 12th, when they host Hilbert College at 7:00 p.m.
