Panthers To Take on Lions on Senior Day

Bradford, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford volleyball team will host Penn State-Altoona in a crucial AMCC match on Saturday afternoon. Along with taking on the Lion on the court, the Panthers will also recognize four graduating players as they will celebrate Senior Day in a ceremony prior to the game.

Four Panthers will be wrapping up their collegiate careers this season and will be recognized. Tabitha Walker is a two-time All-AMCC selection as a setter. In three seasons, Walker has played in 79 matches and 272 sets. She has totaled 1,957 assists while adding 697 digs, 119 kills, 94 aces, and 40 total blocks. Kaitlyn Sexton has played 75 matches and 234 sets as a middle hitter. She has totaled 299 kills, 165 total blocks, 26 aces, and 147 digs. Stephanie Carson has played 70 matches and 215 sets as a defensive specialist and libero for the Panthers. She has collected 636 digs and added 56 aces and 58 assists. Macy Peterson has been a member of the Panthers for two seasons She has played in 4 matches and recorded 2 digs.

The Panthers enter the matchup at 8-14 with a 2-2 record in AMCC. In their midweek matchup, the Panthers nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback, scoring 10 straight points in set four to tie the match and force a deciding set. Pitt-Bradford was unable to finish the comeback and fell in the 5th set. Olivia Reese led the Panthers with 21 kills, while Ruby Smith added 11. Resse leads the team with 234 kills, while Darby Deniston and Ruby Smith have also eclipsed the 100-kill mark, recording 140 and 108 each. Tabitha Walker has dished out 649 assists, which leads the AMCC. Kayla Maslowski leads the team and is 2nd in the AMCC in digs with 324.

Penn State-Altoona is 8-10 on the season and 3-1 in AMCC play. They defeated Elizabethtown in 4 sets in their last match. Lydia Mock leads the team with 222 kills, while Lacee Barnhart is just behind her at 201. Kayla Moran serves as the Lions' primary setter, recording 591 assists so far this season. Erin Lutz, Barnhart, and Mock lead the defensive effort, collecting 273, 264, and 248 digs respectively.

The action is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. in KOA Arena. Senior Day festivities will take place at the 19-minute mark in the warmup.
