Panthers to Celebrate Alumni & Family Weekend with Trimatch

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will host a non-conference tri-match on Saturday afternoon. 

The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. as the Panthers will take on the Fredonia Blue Devils. It will be followed by a neutral site battle between Fredonia and the Wells Express, and the day will close with the Panthers taking on the Express at approximately 3:00 p.m. 

The Panthers are off to a 3-10 start on the season, as they have played in 3 tough early-season tournaments. While they have struggled thus far, the Panthers have come away victorious in both of their home games, 3-2 over Elmira and 3-0 over Houghton, and are coming off of a win over Capital.

Sophomore Olivia Reese has led the team's offense so far, registering 127 kills over 44 sets. Freshman Darby Deniston has also been potent in attack, putting down 106 kills. Senior Setter Tabitha Walker has expertly directed the offense, as she leads the AMCC in assists with 369. She has also added 22 kills and 116 digs. Kayla Maslowski and Stephanie Carson are 1 and 2 in the AMCC in digs, as they have collected 186 and 167 collectively. Carson is the reigning AMCC Defensive Player of the Week after she had 105 digs over 5 games.

Fredonia is 1-10 on the season, with their lone win coming over Mount Aloysius. Their last game was a 3-0 loss to Buffalo State on Wednesday. Gabrielle Sordetto leads the Blue Devils in kills with 92, while Gabrielle Chilcott is behind her at 72. Kourtney Krchniak serves as Fredonia's primary setter, dishing out 230 assists so far this campaign. Freshman Kailea Sullivan leads the team in digs with 107, while sophomore Elora Sherman is just behind her at 99.

The Wells Express is 6-4 this season. They fell to Utica 3-1 in their last contest. Miah Williamson has been the focal part of the offense for the express, as she has totaled 158 kills. Brianah Dawson is the primary setter for Wells, totaling 256 assists and 106 digs through 10 matches. Roosa Armstead-Lehti leads the team in digs with 151.
