BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team pulled off a thrilling victory over Fredonia in five sets Friday evening at the KOA Arena.

With the Pitt-Bradford victory, both teams level their records with the Panthers advancing to 8-8 and Fredonia moving to 7-7.

Right from the start, the two teams got off to a neck-and-neck start with Fredonia getting the best of a 28-26 opening set.

Pitt-Bradford went onto level the match toughing out a set win of its own with a 27-25 win in set two.

The Blue Devils regained the advantage with a 25-23 win in the third set.

But the Panthers regrouped and dominated set four, 25-10, to force a decisive fifth set.

Fredonia led all the way until the two teams switched sides, but the Panthers rallied to get the best of a 15-12 decision and win the match.

Emily Cleveland led the Panthers with 13 kills while Katie Treat had 10. Kaitlyn Sexton contributed nine kills to aid the Panther attack.

Gabby Barnes assisted 23 of the team's kills and Tabitha Walker had 22 assists as the Panther setters.

Defensively, Alayna Seggi led the squad with 30 digs while Barnes and Walker had 13 each. 

At the net, Elizabeth Johnson led the team with six assisted blocks while Treat and Sexton assisted five apiece.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will have a week idle before competing in the AMCC Quad match Saturday, Sept. 28, at Mount Aloysius. Pitt-Bradford will start the day taking on La Roche before taking on the host Mounties.
