WOOSTER, Ohio -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team competed in the first day of the two-day Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic at Wooster College Friday.

The Panthers (6-6) started the day falling to Colby in straight sets before getting the best of Bluffton in four sets.

Though Colby won the first match in straight sets, each set saw heavy competition from the Panthers, as Colby won the sets 31-29, 25-21, 25-21.

Emily Cleveland led the team with 11 kills while Katie Treat contributed nine.

As the Panther setters, Gabby Barnes assisted 13 of the team's 34 total kills while Tabitha Walker assisted 10.

Defensively, Alayna Seggi led the team with13 digs and Elizabeth Johnson assisted three blocks.

Then against Buffton, Pitt-Bradford took the first two sets, 26-24, 25-17.

Bluffton then extended the match with a 25-21 win in set three, but Pitt-Bradford battled back to close out the win with a 25-21 win in set four.

As a unit, Pitt-Bradford gathered to hit .321 in the fourth set to put Bluffton away.

Cleveland once again led the team in kills, this time with 16 on 30 swings with just two errors for a .467 hitting percentage.

Treat and Sydney Shepherd contributed nine kills apiece.

Once again splitting time as the Panther setters, Walker assisted 16 kills while Barnes had 15 assists.

Defensively, Seggi was the team leader in digs once again with 13 and Kamryn Piscitelli dug 10 Bluffton attacks.

At the net, Kaitlyn Sexton was a force, blocking a pair of Bluffton attacks on her own while assisting three blocks.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will play its final two matches in the Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic first taking on the host Wooster at 1 p.m. before taking on Baldwin Wallace at 3 p.m.
