Panthers Wrap Up Action In Lycoming Tournament

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team wrapped up action in the Lycoming Tournament with a pair of matches Saturday, falling to both Hartwick and the host Lycoming.

With the results, Pitt-Bradford moves to 4-5 overall this season.

The day started with a five-set battle which Hartwick got the best of (12-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-19, 15-7) before Lycoming took a four-set contest in the late afternoon's action (25-17, 25-23, 20-25, 25-23).

Against Hartwick, both teams rotated set advantages before a decisive fifth set went Hartwick's way.

Harlee VanScoter and Sydney Shepherd led the team in kills with nine apiece. Elizabeth Johnson and Katie Treat chipped in eight apiece as well.

Gabby Barnes assisted 17 of the Panther's kills while Tabitha Walker had 16 assists.

Defensively, Laura Hildebrand recorded a game-high 27 digs and Johnson had a game-best five assisted blocks.

Then against Lycoming, the Warriors took set one before Pitt-Bradford grabbed set two in a tough battle, 25-23.

But Lycoming took the final two sets to secure the victory.

Emily Cleveland knocked a game-high 15 kills for the Panthers and Caitlin Cipriano led the team with 14 assists.

Hildebrand once again led the team with 15 digs while Walker had 13.

Treat assisted four blocks to lead Pitt-Bradford.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will travel to Houghton Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match.
