WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team split its first two of four weekend matches at the Lycoming Tournament Friday, first falling to Elizabethtown before sweeping Alfred State.

With the decisions, Pitt-Bradford moves to 4-3 on the season.

In the day's first action, Elizabethtown took the Panthers down in four sets (25-10, 22-25, 25-19, 25-15) before the Panthers bounced back to down Alfred State in straight sets (25-18, 29-27, 25-11) in the evening's action.

In the day's first action, Emily Cleveland provided much of the Panther offense with a team-leading 16 kills.

Pitt-Bradford got 17 assists from its primary setter, Gabby Barnes.

Defensively, Laura Hildebrand led the team with 13 digs while Tabitha Walker had 12 and Riley Anderson dug 10 opposing attacks.

Cleveland, Kaitlyn Sexton, Elizabeth Johnson and Katie Treat each assisted a pair of blocks.

Then against Alfred State, Cleveland continued to roll, hammering a game-high 13 kills while Anderson chipped in nine.

Barnes assisted 17 of the team's kills to lead Pitt-Bradford's setting effort.

Defensively, the Panthers held Alfred State to a .019 hitting percentage as Hildebrand once again led the team with 13 digs and Anderson recorded 11 of her own.

At the net, Johnson and Treat led the team's blocking effort with three assisted blocks apiece.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will continue action at Lycoming Saturday and take on Hartwick at 1 p.m. followed by the host Lycoming at 3 p.m.
