FROSTBURG, Md. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team competed in a tri-match at Frostburg State Saturday.

The Panthers fell in both of their non-conference matches of the day, first against York (Pa.) followed by a defeat by the host Frostburg State.

Pitt-Bradford moves to 14-11 overall, with four conference matches left to close out the 2018 regular season.

"I think we left a lot of chances to win out on the court today," Head Coach Tom Roof said. "But, we will learn and grow from days like today and it will only make us better. We still have a very young team, with a lot of freshmen and sophomores out there, and days like today help them grow as players. We were able to get a lot of different players in today and they did great out there, particularly Gesica Ferrar."

In the Panthers' first match of the day, York took the victory in four sets.

York edged the Panthers in set one, 25-23, then the Panthers won tied the match with a win in the second set, 25-22.

In the pivotal third set, York won 25-23, then they closed out the win with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set.

Riley Anderson and Emily Cleveland each knocked a team-high 15 kills, while Laura Hildebrand had 27 digs.

Payton Orzech had 31 assists.

As a team, the Panthers had 12 total assisted blocks.

In the final action of the afternoon, Frostburg State came through with a three-set victory.
