BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will look for its third-straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory Wednesday on the road at Medaille.
Pitt-Bradford enters the week with a 13-9 overall record and a 3-1 mark in AMCC contests. The Panthers hold third place in the conference, one game back from Penn State-Behrend (4-0).
The Panthers are coming off back-to-back three-set wins in conference action, first defeating Franciscan (Sept. 29) before winning at D'Youville (Oct. 2).
Most recently, Pitt-Bradford ventured out of conference play and hosted SUNY Canton and Thiel for a tri-match at the KOA Arena Saturday.
Pitt-Bradford picked up a win in four sets against SUNY Canton in the day's first action, but then fell in five sets to Thiel to close out the day.
Against SUNY Canton, Riley Anderson put together a 20-20 performance of 20 kills and 25 digs to lead the Panthers. Emily Cleveland also knocked 12 kills.
Payton Orzech assisted 47 of the team's kills and was also credited with 13 digs for a double-double.
Pitt-Bradford had a big presence at the net. Katie Treat led the Panthers with seven blocks assisted and Elizabeth Johnson assisted six blocks.
Against Thiel, Cleveland and Treat led the team with 14 kills and Anderson had 13.
Anderson also had 11 digs for a double-double.
Orzech logged 48 assists and 14 digs for a double-double once again.
Laura Hildebrand led the team with 22 digs.
The Panthers continue to lead the conference in nearly every AMCC stat category, but highlighting the team's success is the 1,590 total team digs, which entering the week was tied for the national lead with Westminster (Pa.).
Hildebrand also entered the week sixth in the country with 437 total digs and 20th with 5.33 digs per set.
Also highlighting the Panthers' national success is one of the top hitting duos in the country, with Anderson entering the week 10th nationally with 272 total kills and Cleveland ranking 14th in the country with 265 total kills.
Medaille welcomes the Panthers with a 2-2 record in AMCC action so far this season and a 5-13 overall mark. The Mavericks have defeated Franciscan (Sept. 22) and Pitt-Greensburg (Sept. 29) for its conference wins. Medaille is led by Melissa Postek, whose 2.88 kills per set rank fifth in the conference.
