BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team picked up its second-straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory at D'Youville Tuesday.

The Panthers improved to 12-8 overall and 3-1 in AMCC action with the three-set win over D'Youville (1-17, 1-2 AMCC).

"D'Youville played a heck of a game tonight," Head Coach Tom Roof said. "They dug a lot of balls and played great defensively. But we came through and made key plays when we needed to in the first and third sets. We didn't have a great presence at the net, but our defense -- especially Laura -- kept us in the game tonight. We have some stuff we still need to improve, but we got a nice road win against a team that played us really tough."

Emily Cleveland knocked a game-high 10 kills and Riley Anderson was next with eight.

Payton Orzech assisted 33 of the team's 38 total kills.

Defensively, Laura Hildebrand had 23 digs while Alexandra Segura and Katie Treat each assisted a pair of blocks.

Orzech was also credited with 15 digs for a double-double.

14 different Panthers saw action on the court and contributed to the team's fifth win in six matches.

Pitt-Bradford overcame a tough, competitive first set, 25-23.

With the score tied 22-22, the Panthers scored three of the next four points to take the opening set, capped by a kill from Segura.

Despite 11 hitting errors in the second set, the Panthers dominated the scoreboard. 

Up 21-13, D'Youville battled back with four-straight points but the Panthers held the Spartans off and picked up the 25-18 victory.

The two teams put together a thrilling third set, as they'd need more than the regulated 25-point finish line to decide the winner.

Down to set point, Sydney Shepherd knocked one home to extend the game and push the score to 24-21 in favor of D'Youville. 

Four-straight attack errors by the Spartans put the Panthers ahead 25-24.

A Spartans kill tied it, but Shepherd gave the Panthers a 26-25 lead with another kill of her own.

Later tied 26-26, a pair of Spartan attack errors sealed the set with for the Panthers and gave them the three-set match victory.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will put AMCC action on hold and host Thiel and SUNY Canton for a tri-match Saturday. Prior to the day's opening match at 11 a.m., Pitt-Bradford will honor seniors Payton Orzech and Katie Sedon.
