Panthers Grab Four-Set Road Win At Elmira Monday

ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team picked up a road win Monday at Elmira in four sets.

"This is a really nice road win against a good and experienced team," Head Coach Tom Roof said. "We were carried tonight by a few players who had their best games of the season. Katie Treat led us in kills and had a few blocks. And our middles, Elizabeth Johnson and Alexandra Segura, had a huge presence at the net and played their best yet. It's good to know we can get production from so many different areas. This is a great victory heading into conference play Saturday."

With the win, the Panthers move to 8-7 on the season and have now won seven of their last nine matches.

Pitt-Bradford got its offensive spark from Treat, who led the team with 14 kills.

Riley Anderson was close behind with 12 kills.

Payton Orzech assisted 41 of the team's 47 total kills.

Defensively, Anderson and Orzech recorded double-doubles with 26 and 20 digs, respectively.

At the net, Alexandra Segura was the team's top blocker with four solo and three blocks assisted.

Johnson knocked seven kills and had a pair of solo and assisted blocks each.

The Panthers pulled ahead late and won the first set, 25-18, then grabbed the win in the second set, 25-20.

Elmira extended the match in the third set, though, by grabbing a 25-21 victory.

The Panthers responded with their best hitting set of the night, knocking home 14 kills on 48 attempts to pick up a tough 25-22 win in the fourth set.

Monday's action is the team's final action before their first conference matches of the season.

Up next, the Panthers will open up conference action as they host an AMCC Quad on Saturday at the KOA Arena.
