Emily Cleveland Named AMCC Player of the Week

Official AMCC Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – Sophomore Emily Cleveland of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team has earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week award for her performance during the period of Sept. 4-9, officials announced Monday.

"This is a really nice honor for Emily, who just works so hard to better her game," Head Coach Tom Roof said. "She's coming off a great week, helping us to a 4-1 record and emerging as our go-to player. She's worked so hard to get to this point, so this is a well-deserved honor."

The Winchester, Va., native once again had a stellar week offensively to help Pitt-Bradford to a 4-1 record on the week.

In all, she worked a .353 hitting percentage with 50 kills on 102 total attempts and just 14 errors. She earned 3.85 kills per set, highlighted by a 17-kill, 5.67 per set performance against St. Elizabeth Saturday.

Cleveland also tallied six total blocks for 0.46 per set.

For her performance in the Misericordia Tournament, she was named to the All-Tournament Team along with teammate Riley Anderson.

So far this season, Cleveland owns the AMCC's top hitting percentage at .322 while ranking second with 95 kills and 3.39 kills per set.

Before heading to Wooster for four matches this weekend, Pitt-Bradford will host Houghton on Tuesday at the KOA Arena for its second home match of the season.
