Panthers To Take On Penn State-Behrend For Mid-Week AMCC Match

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will head to Penn State-Behrend for its third Allegheny Mountain Collegiate match of the season. 

Pitt-Bradford is coming off splitting both games of the AMCC Quad Saturday at D'Youville.

The Panthers fell in a tough five-set match against Penn State-Altoona in their conference opener before bouncing back to defeat Mount Aloysius in four sets in the second match.

Against Penn State-Altoona, Riley Anderson led the way with 16 kills while Ally Easton had 10. Laura Hildebrand led the Panthers with 32 digs and Payton Orzech had 37 assists. 

In the win over Mount Aloysius, Anderson and Emily Cleveland both knocked 16 kills for Pitt-Bradford. Orzech assisted 45 kills, and Hildebrand had 40 digs. 

Hildebrand continues to move up the conference rankings with digs as she holds the second most with 259 on the year. Her 4.80 digs per set is the fourth-best average so far this season.

Cleveland's 136 total kills are the third most in the conference this season, and she knocks 2.57 per set. 

Erin Fagan has emerged as one of the top front-row players in the conference. Fagan holds the fifth-highest hitting percentage in the conference at .232, and she is second in the AMCC in blocks per set (0.65), blocks assisted (28) and total blocks (36).

Tied with Fagan with 0.65 blocks per set is Katie Treat. At 0.60 per set, Ally Easton holds the fifth-best mark in the conference.

Anderson's 0.45 service aces per set ranks her fifth in the conference in that category. Orzech's 22 total service aces on the season is the AMCC's third most.

Wednesday's action will begin at 7 p.m.

  • The Penn State-Behrend Lions welcome the Panthers with a 5-8 record. Wednesday's game will be PSB's first AMCC game of the season.

  • Rachel Frye is tied with Pitt-Bradford's Emily Cleveland with 136 total kills on the season. Frye's 2.89 kills per set is the second-best mark in the conference. Hannah Saunders assists 5.87 kills per set, the third most in the AMCC.
  • Alex Parra is the top blocker in the conference, leading the AMCC with 0.88 blocks per set, 31 blocks assisted and 38 total blocks.
