Panthers To Open Up Conference Play In AMCC Quad Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will begin its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference schedule as it heads to D'Youville to participate in the AMCC Quad on Saturday.

Pitt-Bradford will play a pair of games, first taking on Penn State-Altoona at 1 p.m. before playing Mount Aloysius at 3 p.m.

The Panthers are coming off a competition at Allegheny.

Emily Cleveland led the way with eight kills. Payton Orzech had nine assists and Caitlyn Schnell had six. Alayna Seggi had 17 digs while Laura Hildebrand had 10. 

With conference play starting, the Panthers are well represented on the AMCC stat rankings.

Cleveland now ranks third in the AMCC with 111 total kills on the season. Her 2.52 per set mark is the fifth best in the conference.

Hildebrand remains in the top five in the AMCC with 187 digs and 4.16 per set. Orzech has 105 on the season and Seggi is close behind with 104.

Aly Easton's 0.71 blocks per set is the second-best mark in the conference, and her teammates Katie Treat (0.69) and Elizabeth Johnson (0.63) immediately follow her at third and fourth, respectively.

Orzech leads the Panthers with 4.31 assists per set, and that mark ranks sixth best in the AMCC.

About Penn State-Altoona:

  • The Penn State-Altoona Lions enter conference play with a 2-8 record, picking up their two wins against Hood College (Sept. 1) and Marywood University (Sept. 2) in the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic. The Lions have since lost seven straight games.
  • Josie Stovall hits at a .240 percent, which is the fourth-best mark in the conference. She's earned 65 kills so far this season. Kelsey Bristol leads the team with 72 kills.
  • While also leading the team in kills, Bristol also has the most digs on the Lions with 105.
  • Lauren Moran has earned 191 of the team's 233 total assists this season. Her 5.46 assists per set is the third-best mark in the AMCC.

About Mount Aloysius:

  • The Mount Aloysius Mounties come into the Quad with a 6-8 record and have won four-straight matches.
  • Sarah Fisher has tallied the second-most kills in the AMCC with 135. Fisher's .309 hitting percentage is the best in the conference. Her teammate, Jessica Bressler, has knocked 91 kills, which is good for fifth best in the conference.
  • Kylee Clawson's 4.86 digs per set is the second-best mark in the conference this season.
  • Emma Pevarnik leads the conference with 27 service aces and her 254 assists are the second most in the AMCC.
