Panthers Head To Allegheny For Wednesday Contest

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will hit the road and take on Allegheny on Wednesday. 

The Panthers are coming off playing three games in the Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic hosted by Wooster this past weekend.

For her performance, Riley Anderson was named as the Panthers' representative on the All-Tournament Team.

In Friday's game vs. Capital, Anderson led the Panthers with six kills and 11 digs. Then on Saturday, she led the team with nine kills against Wooster, then had 13 against Frostburg State in the tournament's finale.

On the season, Emily Cleveland has 103 total kills, which is the fourth-most in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. Her 2.51 per set is the conference's fifth-best mark.

Laura Hildebrand has 177 total digs and 4.21 per set. Both marks are good for fifth-best in the conference. 

Katie Treat (0.74), Ally Easton (0.71) and Elizabeth Johnson (0.71) rank third and tied for fourth, respectively, on the conference's blocks per set list.

Payton Orzech (0.52) and Anderson (0.51) rank third and fourth, respectively, on the AMCC's service aces per set list. 

Wednesday's matchup at Allegheny will begin at 7 p.m. 

About Allegheny:

  • The Allegheny Gators welcome the Panthers an even 6-6 on the season.
  • Most recently, the Gators picked up a victory in five sets against Trine (Sept. 16) in the Bluffton University Fall Classic.
  • Allegheny is 4-1 on its home court so far this season, capturing three wins and the lone loss as it hosted the Allegheny Gator Invitational (Sept. 8 and 9).
  • Leah Franzluebbers leads the team with 99 kills and Hannah Cubarney has 86. Franzluebbers hits at a .213 percentage.
  • Justine Kelly does the setting for the Gators as she has assisted 303 of the team's kills. Terra Schall leads the team with 243 digs and 5.79 per set. Franzluebbers is also the top blocker on the team with 12 solo, 18 assisted and 30.0 total.
