BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team split both games of its first day at the Greyhound Premiere Invitational, falling to York (Pa.) in straight sets before sweeping Bard (N.Y.) to claim its first win of 2017.

In game one, the Panthers managed 18 points in each of the first two sets. Despite Pitt-Bradford's best effort, York claimed the tight third set, 25-22.

Sydney Shepherd led the way for the Panthers with five kills while Emily Cleveland followed with three.

Payton Orzech managed 11 assists and Caitlyn Schnell assisted seven of her own.

Laura Hildebrand led the game with 38 total digs.

The Panthers went on to flip the script in the nightcap, earning a sweep of their own in game two over Bard (N.Y.)

Pitt-Bradford claimed a six-point win in the first set, and took the second set in dominating fashion, 25-10. A final push from Bard made for a close set three, but the Panthers took care of business and earned the victory by a third-set score of 25-20.

Erin Fagan led the Panthers with six kills on 18 attacks, and Riley Anderson and Ally Easton added four apiece. 

Schnell led the game with 14 assists.

Hildebrand once again had the game high in digs, this time managing 34.

The Panthers will wrap up action in the Greyhound Premiere Invitational Saturday with a matchup against the host Moravian at 10 a.m. followed by a showdown with Baldwin Wallace at 12 p.m.
