Panthers Win AMCC Regular Season Title

The Pitt-Bradford volleyball team captured the AMCC regular season title Saturday, defeating La Roche 3-1.

With the win, the Panthers secured a first-round bye for the conference postseason tournament and will host the semifinal and championship rounds Nov. 5 and 6.

Pitt-Bradford prevailed by scores of 25-19, 26-28, 25-15, 25-9, improving to 8-0 against league opponents this season with one conference match remaining.

Kirsten Platz paced the Panther attack with a career-high 21 kills, and Mandy Finch, Erin Fagan and Alexis Dhayer had seven kills each. The Panthers totaled 13 aces led by Christina Rauh's five and Dhayer converted three. Rauh also tallied 41 assists.

Defensively, Finch registered 23 digs, Dhayer collected 16, and Rauh netted a double-double with 14 digs. Emily Reitz added 12 digs and Brianna Majot had 10. Platz led the blocking up front with three total stops.

Prior to the match, the Panthers honored their three seniors, Finch, Rauh and Megan Geary. The crowd also serenaded head coach Tom Roof to celebrate his birthday.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 21-5 on the season and travels to Keuka Wednesday for their final non-conference match of the season.
