Returning to the court for the first time in a week, the Pitt-Bradford volleyball team showed no rust in sweeping Medaille on the road Wednesday. The Panthers won by scores of 25-19, 25-14, 25-11.

With the win, Pitt-Bradford remain undefeated in conference play with a 6-0 mark and in the driver's seat to host the AMCC postseason tournament semifinals and finals. It also represents the Panthers' fourth sweep in league play.

As a team, the Panthers hit .299 while limiting the Mavericks to a negative hitting percentage and recorded 10 blocks.

Sydney Shepherd and Kirsten Platz led the attack with nine kills apiece, and Erin Fagan totaled seven. Christina Rauh compiled 31 assists and an ace. Defensively, Alexis Dhayer logged 11 digs, Brianna Majot registered 10 and Platz had a match-high seven blocks.

"I thought our blocking really set the tone and defensively we played a great match," head coach Tom Roof said. "Sydney [Shepherd] was big for us again…she's really stepped up with Mandy [Finch] being out to injury.

It's a tough environment to win in. Anyone that's played there will tell you that and to take them in three is a testament to how well we're playing right now."

Pitt-Bradford improves to 18-4 on the season, matching the 2009 squad for the second-most wins in school history. The Panthers travel to Alfred, N.Y., Saturday for a pair of matches.
