Pitt-Bradford volleyball swept Penn State Behrend Wednesday to run its winning streak to five matches and remain undefeated in the AMCC.

Fresh off a pair of conference wins this past weekend, the Panthers made quick work of the visiting Lions, finishing the match in less than 90 minutes, winning 25-17, 25-13, 25-22.

Tied at 13 in the first set, the Panthers used a 5-0 spurt to pull away for good. Kirsten Platz and Alexis Dhayer fueled the run, each recording two blocks. Pitt-Bradford jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the second set and never looked back. Behrend trimmed the deficit to three at one point, but an 11-2 Panther run squashed any chance of a comeback.

The third set proved to be the closet as Behrend led by as many as two late. Four straight Pitt-Bradford points, capped by Sydney Shepherd's kill, pulled the Panthers ahead 23-21. Facing match point, the Lions were turned back by Rose Thacker's block, securing Pitt-Bradford's first sweep of Behrend since 2011.

Platz finished with a team-high nine kills, Thacker added six and two players had four. Christina Rauh paced the attack with 24 kills, and Dhayer, Platz and Erin Fagan had two aces apiece. Defensively, no Panther had more than six digs, and Platz had a match-high six blocks. Dhayer, Thacker and Mandy Finch each registered three blocks apiece.

"I thought our blocking was exceptional and really set the tone for the match," head coach Tom Roof said. "These are the type of matches we lost last year, big conference games.

This is a big win against a playoff team that beat us last year, which makes three in a row to start conference play. That's our maturity showing through this year."

Pitt-Bradford improves to 14-3 on the season, 3-0 in the conference and will host SUNY Geneseo Thursday at 7 p.m.
