Panthers Sweep Capital and Marietta

The Pitt-Bradford volleyball team went 2-0 on the opening day of the Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic Friday in Wooster, Ohio, defeating Capital (Ohio) and Marietta (Ohio).

Pitt-Bradford kicked off tournament play sweeping Capital 25-18, 25-19, 25-21. Kirsten Platz paced the Panthers with nine kills and Rose Thacker added eight. Christina Rauh recorded 14 assists and a match-high six assists. Many Finch led the defensive effort with 13 digs, Emily Reitz had 12 and Platz totaled two blocks.

The Panthers swept Marietta in the night session 25-22, 25-23, 25-22. Finch posted a team-high 12 kills and 16 digs, and Rauh, Erin Fagan, and Alexis Dhayer had six kills apiece. Rauh collected 31 assists and Platz registered three aces. Reitz had 12 digs, Rauh chipped in with nine and five different Panthers recorded a block.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 9-2 on the season and wraps up tournament play Saturday with matches against Wooster and Oberlin (Ohio).
