Women's Volleyball Dominates Hilbert, 3-0

HAMBURG, N.Y. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball squad dominated from start to finish, cruising to a 3-0 victory at Hilbert College on Tuesday night.

The Panthers (7-13, 2-2) won the first set 25-12, the second set 25-2, and the final set 25-22.  

"I thought we finally put it all together tonight to pick up a terrific conference victory on the road," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Tom Roof. "We were hitting the ball so well tonight and our defense was outstanding."

Alma Turpin was terrific for the Panthers, finishing with 18 kills. Mandy Finch followed with 16 kills and eight digs. Kirsten Platz also had an outstanding game, finishing with 12 kills, three solo blocks and two block assists. Christina Rauh added 34 assists and one dig, while Alexis Dhayer chipped in with nine kills and three digs. 

"Alma was outstanding tonight. It was probably the best she's played all season," Roof said. "Kirsten was also terrific in the middle. She racked up a ton of blocks and her and Mandy were really swinging tonight."

The Panthers return to action Thursday night at 6 against Elmira College at the KOA Arena.
