Panther Tennis Wraps up Schedule with Two at Medaille

Buffalo, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team wrapped up their 2021-22 schedule with two matches at Medaille on Sunday. The Panthers were unable to come away with a victory as they lost the first 3-5 and the second 2-5.

In the opener, the Panthers fell behind 2-1 after the doubles portion of the match. Emily Snyder and Jana Elenany Picked up the Panthers' point through a forfeit while Abigail Martin and Madilyn Rogers lost 2-8 at #1 and Lydia Ehrensberger and Avitamarie Demieri lost at #2 1-8.

In singles, Emily Snyder picked up a tiebreaker win for the Panthers at #5. She lost the opening set 4-6 but forced a tiebreak with a 6-4 win in the second set and clinched the match with a 10-2 win in the tiebreak. Jana Elenany also picked up a win by forfeit at #6.

The second match of the day started the same way as it predecessor with the Panthers leaving the doubles portion of the match trailing 2-1. Abigail Martin and Madilyn Rogers did have a stronger match at #1, losing 5-8.

The match came to a close in the singles portion as Medaille won the first three matches to reach the 5 points and seal the win. Jana Elenany stepped into the 5th position and lost a tough match in a tie break. She lost the opening set 4-6 but came back with a 7-5 win in the second. In the tiebreak, Elenany battled but fell 10-12.

 The Panthers complete their season with a 2-8 record.
