Panthers Hang Tough But Fall 5-4 To Undefeated Mavericks

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team hosted Medaille for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match Wednesday, narrowly falling 5-4.

With the result, Pitt-Bradford moves to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in AMCC action while Medaille remains undefeated at 10-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play.

Pitt-Bradford earned its first win of the day in the No. 3 doubles spot at the duo of Jessica Jordan and Caroline Hance came out on top 8-6.

Then in No. 2 singles, Elanie Roberts picked up a hard-fought win against her opponent, 6-7 (15-13), 6-2, 10-2.

Jordan and Hance earned their second wins of the day with victories in the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots.

In the No. 5 spot, Jordan won 6-3, 6-4 while Hance won her No. 6 match 6-4, 6-3.

Aaliyah SmithRebecca Jordan and Abbie Buerkle also competed for the Panthers.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will continue on in AMCC action with road matches at Penn State-Behrend Saturday and at Pitt-Greensburg Sunday.
