Panthers Close Out Fall Action Hosting Pitt-Greensburg For Senior Day Friday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford tennis teams will wrap up their fall action Friday at the Kessel Athletic Complex, hosting Pitt-Greensburg.

For the Panthers women's team, Friday's match will be the final of the 2018 season, while the men's tennis team will put action on hold until Feb. 23.

Prior to the start of the match, Pitt-Bradford will honor Maya Bingaman for senior day as she competes in her final home tennis match.

Both Panthers teams are coming off weekends in which they went 1-1, the women's team defeating Penn State-Behrend Friday and falling at Penn State-Altoona Saturday, with the men's team finding opposite results.

The women's team pulled off a dominant 9-0 win over the Lions Friday but fell 5-1 at Altoona.

On the season, Pitt-Bradford is led by Katelyn Wells' 4-2 record in singles. In doubles, Abbie Buerkle and Aaliyah Smith have put together a fantastic season as a duo, earning a record of 5-1.

On the men's side, the Panthers fell to Behrend 9-0 but defeated Penn State-Altoona 6-3.

Jacob Volz is the team's leader in singles with a 2-2 mark, while Jeffrey Kocjancic has been apart of a pair of doubles wins in different pairings.

The Bobcats' women's team is in search of its first win of the season at 0-7 in AMCC action and 0-11 overall.

Pitt-Greensburg's men's team is also in search of its first victory, entering the weekend 0-3. Friday's match will be the first AMCC action of the season for the Bobcats.

Friday's match is set for a 2 p.m. start.
