Panthers To Welcome First-Place Franciscan Thursday

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team will host first-place Franciscan for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match, the team's final September action of the 2017 season.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off a convincing 7-2 win over Mount Aloysius on Sunday, earning its second AMCC victory of the season.

Ashley Stoltz remains the Panthers' most consistent performer as she has won all seven of her singles matches so far this season, six of which in the No. 4 spot.

Jessica Jordan has been solid for the Panthers in the No. 6 spot with a 4-2 record overall. 

The Panthers' doubles teams have also been excellent performers throughout the season. The No. 1 team of Alexa Holleran and Stoltz has claimed three wins while the predominately No. 2 team of Maya Bingaman and Jessica Jordan has gone 4-3 as a duo.

At 2-4 in AMCC, the Panthers remain on the cusp of earning a playoff spot with one final conference match left after Thursday's 6 p.m. matchup with Franciscan.

  • The Franciscan Barons come to Pitt-Bradford with a 6-4 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark against conference opponents.
  • In conference play, the Barons have not lost either a singles or doubles match.
  • Taranee Karimpour and Emmy Mathias lead the team with six singles wins apiece.
  • Franciscan holds it down in the top spots, as Madelyn Conrad has gone 5-4 from the No. 1 spot, and Maria Binette holds the same record in the No. 2 position.
  • The No. 1 doubles team of Binette and Conrad have gone 6-3 this season, and Grace Hammel and Mathias have gone 6-2.
