CRESSON, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team picked up a convincing 7-2 win at Mount Aloysius Sunday.
"In the three matches that came down to the third set tiebreaker, we came out as the more enthusiastic competitors and had a mental edge over our opponents," Head Coach Susan Schenfield said.
The Panthers claimed two doubles wins, gaining victories in the No. 2 and 3 spots.
The No. 2 team of Maya Bingaman and Jessica Jordan fought to an 8-5 win.
In No. 3 doubles, Rebecca Jordan and Aaliya Smith won convincingly, 8-3.
In singles action, Alexa Holleran came out on top in the No. 1 spot, 0-6, 7-6, 10-7.
Bingaman gave her opponent as much of a tough match in the No. 2 spot, besting her competition, 6-4, 2-6, 10-5.
Ashley Stoltz came out on top in the No. 4 spot, 6-1, 6-0.
Katelyn Wells defeated her No. 5 singles opponent in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.
Finally, Jessica Jordan rounded out the scoring for the Panthers with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win over her No. 6 opponent.
With the win, the Panthers gain their second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory of the season.
The next AMCC action for the Panthers will come on Thursday as the team hosts Franciscan.
