Fedak Wins Two Events as Panthers Fall to Wells in Dual Meet

Aurora, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team scored their second-highest point total of the season but were unable to top their hosts, Wells, who won the dual meet 123-64.

Bailey Fedak was able to pick up her first two wins of the season, winning both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events. She breezed her way to victory in the 50, posting a time of 28.84 seconds, finishing nearly 4 seconds before the remainder of the field. She followed that up with a much tighter win in the 100. She won the race with a time of 1:04.40, winning the race by one second.

Adriana Gallas was also able to pick up an event win in the 500-yard freestyle. She swam the race in 7:05.86 and was the only competitor to complete the race without disqualification. 

The Panthers were able to fill two medley relay teams to pick up an additional 6 points. Katie Anderton, Gallas, Fedak and Eve Brink took second in the event with a time of 2:27.56. The second team of Chloe Bellis, Macy Peterson, Anna Killingbeck, and Stephanie Carson finished behind them with a time of 3:07.67.

The Panthers will host Jamestown Community College in an exhibition match next Saturday, before going on break. They will return to action in the spring on January 8th in a tri-match with Buffalo State and Wells.
