Panthers Fall to Penn State Altoona in the Pool

Penn State Altoona dealt the Pitt-Bradford men's and women's swimming teams a pair of losses Saturday. The men were edged 104-96, and the women fell 100-38.

In men's action, the Panthers won five total events, led by reigning AMCC Swimmer of the Week Nicholas Boyd, who won both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle swims.

Lucas Cerchiaro took first in the 100-yard butterfly, and Carey Behm won the 500-yard freestyle race. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Zachary France, Mitchell Smith, Behm and Devyn Condon won in a time of 1:37.95.

Runner-up finishes included Behm in the 200-yard free, France in the 1,000-yard free, Cerchiaro in the 200-yard individual medley, Corey Koss in the 100-yard backstroke and Noah Frederick in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Koss, Frederick, Cerchiaro and Boyd also finished second.

On the women's side, Jillian Wright recorded a pair of individual wins, finishing first in the 200-yard free and 100-yard breastroke.

Elizabeth Prager also collected a win, taking first in the 500-yard free, and she placed second in the 200-yard individual medley.

The Pitt-Bradford swimming teams will travel to Buffalo State next Saturday for a non-conference dual.
