UPB Swim Teams Kick Off Season with 2nd Place Finish at Panther Relays

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's swimming teams kicked of the 2015 season with a second place finish and a total score of 160 at the Panther Relays on Saturday afternoon.

Penn State Behrend won the event with a total score of 248.

The Panthers got off to a hot start, winning the first event of the day. Wehonna Toth, Becky Avery, Ava Young and Ann Confer won the women's 300 butterfly with a time of 3:21.95. 

Corey Koss, Devyn Condon, Lucas Cerchiaro, and Alex Renwick captured a victory in the men's 300 butterfly with a time of 2:42.74.

Toth, Young and Avery teamed up with Elizabeth Prager for a victory in the women's 4x100 IM, while Jeff Cattoni, Zack France, Renwick and Cerchiaro captured the save event on the men's side.

Pitt-Bradford added second place finishes in the women's 300-backstroke relay, men's 300 backstroke, women's 800 freestyle, men's 800, men's 500 freestyle, and women's 400 freestyle. 

The Panthers return to action Saturday, Oct. 24, against Cabrini at Pitt-Bradford at 1 p.m.
