Women's Soccer to Kick Off New Era

Bradford, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women’s soccer team will begin a new era in 2023 as they take the field under the leadership of new coach Lorenzo Rodriguez.

Rodriguez joins the Panthers after successful assistant coaching spells at Greensboro College and Mary Washington. He looks to rebuild the program which has gone two seasons without a victory.

The Panthers return just 5 players this season, including team leaders Delaney Stowe and Kimberly Goodwin. Stowe returns as the Panthers leading scorer, after scoring 3 times last season. Transfer Chloe Shaw will also provide valuable experience to the team, after joining the program following two seasons at Houghton. The Panthers will look to a large group of freshmen who will quickly earn large amounts of playing time and experience. This group will be led by Alyssa Andersen, who will immediately step into a starting spot in goal.

The Panthers kick off their season on Saturday, September 2nd when host SUNY Poly at Bradford Area High School’s Parkway field. Due to ongoing construction on the new turf playing surface, the Panthers will play their home games at three different local sites. Along with games at Parkway Field, Pitt-Bradford will also host games at  Veterans Memorial Park in Salamanca, N.Y., and Kane High School’s Paul R. Miller Stadium.

The Panthers were predicted to finish in 10th place in the AMCC’s Pre-Season Coaches Poll.
