Panthers Fall on Senior Day

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team took on Mount Aloysius on Saturday, while also celebrating their two graduating seniors in a pregame ceremony. The Panthers recognized Kimberly Goodwin and Delaney Stowe, before falling to the Mounties 7-0.

Goodwin has played 41 games for the Panthers, starting 28. She has spent time at all three spots on the field, with the past two seasons playing mostly in the Panther defense and midfield. She has 1 career assist and 2 shots on goal. Stow has played and started 39 games for the Panthers. She has scored 7 goals, with 2 assists and 17 shots on goal.

The Panther's defense stood firm early, as they were able to keep the Mounties off the board for the first half hour of play. Alyssa Andersen made five early saves in the Panther goal. Pitt-Bradford had a strong few minutes on the press in the 20th, as they were able to work out two shooting opportunities for Lainey Deane and Chloe Shaw. The visitors broke through in the 30th and then took just 5 minutes to double their advantage as they were able to break behind the Panther defense and beat Andersen one-on-one.

After the break, the Mounties went back on the attack, and despite a few more saves from Andersen, scored two more within 15 minutes. Playing with just one substitution, the Panthers began to run out of gas, as the visitors continued to attack. The Mounties added their 5th goal in the 70th minute and a 6th in the 84th. The scoring concluded with a goal in the 87th.

Alyssa Andersen finished the game with 13 saves. Chloe Shaw and Lainey Deane each had a shot for the Panthers.

Pitt-Bradford falls to 0-12 on the season with a 0-5 record in AMCC play. They will be right back in action tomorrow, as they will host Carlow in a game previously postponed on September 30th. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Parkway Field in Bradford.
