Panthers Drop Season Finale at Penn State-Behrend

Erie, Pa. --The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team finished their 2022 campaign with a 6-1 loss to Penn State-Behrend on Tuesday night.

The hosts began their attack on the Panther goal immediately, forcing Sadie Wood into a pair of saves in the opening 5 minutes of play. They opened the scoring in the 6th minute as they put away a rebound after a Wood save. The Lions doubled their lead 14 minutes in and then scored two goals in quick succession to go ahead 4-0 after 22 minutes.

The Panthers were able to pull a goal back in the 34th minute. Pitt-Bradford was awarded a penalty kick after Mia Camps was fouled in the box. Alannah Allen stepped up and put the penalty into the upper 90 to score her first career goal. The momentum did not remain with the Panthers for long as the Lions restored their four-goal lead within two minutes.

Wood and the Panthers' defense stepped up in the second half and held the Lions to just 1 goal, a 60th-minute strike. The Panthers faced 22 shots in the half and Wood tallied 12 saves.

Alannah Allen's penalty kick goal was the only shot for the Panthers. It was the first of her career. Sadie wood made 21 saves in the loss. 

The Panthers finish their season with an 0-15 record and 0-7 in AMCC play.
