Panthers to Host Bethany in Non-Conference Matchup

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team returns to their home field to take on Bethany in a non-conference matchup.

The Panthers have had a tough start to their season as they enter today's match 0-6-1. While they have struggled to keep up with some tough opponents on the road, they have seen better performances on their home field this year. They picked up a 2-2 draw with Thiel on Sept. 8th and were unable to stay with Alfred State in the second half of their conference opener, losing 3-1. Sophomore midfielder Delaney Stowe leads the Panthers with 2 goals. she also has an assist. Katie Anderton leads the Panthers' defensive effort and chipped in a goal against Elmira. Cassidy King and Carolelyn LaPrairie have also scored for Pitt-Bradford. Emily Bethel has played the majority of minutes in goal for the Panthers. She has made 56 saves on the season. 

The Bethany Bison enter the match with a 3-2 record. They started the season with wins over Penn State-Beaver, Rochester (Mi.) and Defiance, but dropped the last two against Mount Aloysius and Lycoming. Freshman Mary Marshall has led the Bison this season, scoring five goals. She also has 3 assists and has taken 28 shots. Junior Corinne Grabow has played 4 games in net for Bethany. She has a 2-2 record and has made 23 saves.

The game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. today at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
