Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer lost to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Franciscan University 3-1 on Saturday. The Panthers scored an early goal but were unable to hold on as they allowed three unanswered goals, including two in the second half. 

Pitt-Bradford started quickly as they dominated the first ten minutes of play. They earned two early corners and had two close calls before they were able to take the lead in the 11th minute. The Panthers started a set piece from the right flank that saw the ball roll towards Kiley Tuttle. Tuttle took a one time shot that was blocked by the Franciscan goalkeeper, directly into the path of Taylor Sutryk who was able to finish into the open net with her fourth goal of the season. The Baron's quickly responded to the goal as they had a chance in the 16th minute, but Emily Bethel made two quick saves in a row to keep the Panthers in the lead. Tuttle came close to doubling the lead in the 30th minute. She was able to run onto a free ball behind the defense and caught the goalkeeper out of the net. She chipped a shot towards the open goal, only to see it land just over the crossbar for a goal kick. The Barons were able to tie the game 10 minutes before the break when they were able to tap in a corner kick that the Panther's defense failed to handle.

Franciscan was able to control the majority of the action in the second half, as they outshot the Panthers 8 to 3 in the period. They took the lead on a long shot from Sarah Cocozza that found its way into the top right corner in the 62nd minute. 10 minutes later, Cocozza would score again, as she chipped a ball from the left wing that floated off the far post and back into the goal for the Baron's third of the game. 

Sutryk finished with 5 shots, putting 3 on target. Emily Goetz took two shots, both of which forced a save from the Franciscan keeper. Goalkeeper Emily Bethel made 8 saves in the loss for the Panthers.

With the loss, Pitt-Bradford's record is now 3-9 with a 1-3 record in conference play. In their next action, they will host Penn State Behrend at 4:15 on Tuesday afternoon.
