Panthers Pull Off Double OT Win Against Saint Vincent Thursday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team picked up a thrilling double-overtime victory against Saint Vincent at the Kessel Athletic Complex Thursday afternoon, 2-1.

With the win, Pitt-Bradford improves to 2-6 while Saint Vincent drops to 0-5.

Cassidy King scored the game-winning goal early in the second overtime period, taking a feed from Taylor Sutryk and putting it past the Saint Vincent keeper to give the Panthers the win on their home field.

The Panthers broke the silence in this contest late in the first half, as Megan Rose found the back of the net in the 35th minute off an assist from Cassidy Fenner.

Pitt-Bradford eventually took a 1-0 lead into the half.

Eight minutes into the second half, though, Saint Vincent tied the game.

The 1-1 score eventually held up for the regulated 90 minutes and the two teams went into overtime.

Saint Vincent put one in the back of the net midway through overtime, but it was called offsides.

After the first 10-minute overtime period, the two teams took it to the second and final overtime period, looking to break the tie.

Just 40 seconds in, King ended the contest and gave the Panthers the win with her goal.

The Panthers dominated the offensive tempo, outshooting Saint Vincent 25-5 while putting 16 on goal compared to Saint Vincent's four.

Taylor Sutryk led the game with nine shots while putting six on goal. Kiley Tuttle fired five shots and put four on goal while Rose shot six times and put three on net.

Sadie Wood played the whole game in goal and made three saves on four shots on goal faced.

Thursday's contest was the Panthers' final non-conference match of the season as Pitt-Bradford will welcome Pitt-Greensburg Saturday for its first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m.
