Houghton Comes Out On Top Wednesday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team hosted Houghton Wednesday for a non-conference match at the Kessel Athletic Complex.

Houghton (1-3) came out on top over Pitt-Bradford (1-5) by a score of 8-0.

The Highlanders scored a pair of goals in the first half and took a 2-0 lead into the break.

They then rallied for six goals in the second to take the convincing win.

Pitt-Bradford fired eight total shots, led by two apiece from Taylor Sutryk and Emily Royea.

Royea put both of her shots on goal, while Emily Goetz, Katie Anderton and Jada Luther also forced the Houghton keeper to make stops.

Emily Bethel and Sadie Wood split time in goal, Wood playing the first half and Bethel playing the second. Each keeper made five saves.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will resume its homestand as it welcomes Geneva Saturday.
