CAZENOVIA, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season with a 2-1 victory at Cazenovia Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Pitt-Bradford and Cazenovia both move to 1-1 through the early days of the 2019 season.
Emily Royea and Taylor Sutryk both scored their first career goals to power the Panther offense.
Additionally, Sadie Wood earned her first career victory in goal, stopping 14 out of 15 shots on goal.
All three goals in the contest came in the opening half.
Caz jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead with an unassisted strike in the 17th minute.
But just two minutes later, Royea netted the equalizer.
Then in the 26th minute, Sutryk took a feed from Kiley Tuttle and found the back of the net, giving the Panthers the advantage.
Wood and the Panther defense would hold tough during the final 64 minutes to hold off Caz and secure the victory.
Pitt-Bradford fired 14 shots and put five on goal.
Sutryk and Madison Feeser led the team with four shots apiece while Royea fired three. Emily Goetz registered three shots and Tuttle sent one toward the goal.
Up next, Pitt-Bradford will play one final road contest Tuesday at Thiel before opening up the home portion of its schedule against Allegheny on Thursday.
