Panthers Complete 2018 Season With Loss At Alfred State

ALFRED, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team wrapped up its 2018 season with a non-conference loss at Alfred State Wednesday.

"I just want to say thank you to our seven seniors and their families for their support throughout their careers," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "We will miss them all."

Alfred State used four goals in the first half and two in the second to complete a 6-0 victory over the Panthers.

Pitt-Bradford finishes the season 5-11-1, with a 4-4-1 record in AMCC action. The Panthers scored 26 total goals and 21 in AMCC action -- the program's most in conference play since the 2014 season.

Alfred State scored its first goal of the contest four minutes after kickoff.

Then, they went up 3-0 with quick goals in the 13th and 15th minutes.

A goal four minutes before halftime sent the Pioneers into the half ahead 4-0.

Alfred State scored its final two goals of the contest in the 51st and 61st minutes.

The two teams had nearly equal shot attempts, with Pitt-Bradford out-shooting Alfred State 17-16.

But, 13 of Alfred State's 16 shots went on goal while the Panthers recorded six shots on goal.

In goal, Emily Bethel made seven saves for the Panthers.

Grace Dadzaa put all three of her shot attempts on goal, while Jasmine Adams, Jade Adams and Meghan Stuck put a shot on goal apiece.

Wednesday's action ends the careers of Pitt-Bradford seniors Grace Dadzaa, Jade Adams, Meghan Stuck, Courtney Shade, Jule Barton, Kahlee Bowen and Meghan Thomas.

Pitt-Bradford is set to return 11 players for next year's squad.
