BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team pulled off a thrilling comeback win over La Roche in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup at the Kessel Athletic Complex Saturday.
"We came to work in the second half," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "We needed to come back and we did. We needed this win and we got it. It was a very enjoyable second half to watch."
The Panthers (3-8-1, 2-2-1 AMCC) scored three goals in the final 20 minutes to avenge an early 2-0 La Roche (2-9, 0-5) lead and win 3-2.
Tied 2-2 in the 82nd minute, Meghan Stuck fired a shot on goal that bounced off the crossbar. Jasmine Adams collected the rebound and knocked it home, giving the Panthers the lead.
Pitt-Bradford held off La Roche the rest of the way to secure its second AMCC victory and remain in the conference playoff picture.
The two teams battled for 40 scoreless minutes until La Roche struck first on a breakaway.
The Redhawks would go onto take the 1-0 lead into halftime.
10 minutes into the second half, La Roche scored its second goal.
It would be its last.
Julie Barton scored off an assist from Courtney Shade in the 73rd minute.
Shade later tied the game on a penalty kick two minutes later.
The score remained tied for nine more minutes until Adams' heroics.
Emily Bethel played all 90 minutes in goal for the Panthers and made five saves.
The Panthers' outshot the Redhawks, 17-14, putting eight on goal.
Barton led the way with three shots on goal while Grace Dadzaa, Megan Rose, Shade, Stuck and Adams put one on goal apiece.
Up next, the Panthers will hit the road Tuesday to take on Penn State-Behrend.
