Panthers Fall At Penn State-Altoona In Road Conference Game Saturday

ALTOONA, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team traveled to Penn State-Altoona for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup Saturday.

The Lions (4-5, 2-1 AMCC) scored a pair of goals in the first half and held the Panthers (1-8-1, 0-2-1 AMCC) scoreless for a 2-0 victory.

"Not our best showing today," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "But, hopefully, we can turn it around next game."

Both Penn State-Altoona goals came from Sadie McConnell.

Altoona's first goal of the game came 18 minutes into the contest on a strike in the bottom left of the goal with off a lead pass.

The Lions doubled their lead in the 37th minute as McConnell scored from 12 yards out.

Pitt-Bradford had a pair of scoring chances, as Meghan Stuck and Grace Dadzaa each put a shot on goal.

The Panthers fired seven total shots, five of which coming from Stuck. Dadzaa and Meghan Rose fired once apiece.

In goal, Emily Bethel played all 90 minutes and made eight saves on 10 shots on goal faced.

Up next, the Panthers will play host to Hilbert Wednesday for a 2 p.m. start.
