Allegheny Tops Panthers In First Road Contest

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team fell at Allegheny, 4-0, Wednesday in a non-conference contest.

"One of our biggest struggles this season is going to be keeping everyone healthy, and unfortunately, tonight, that wasn't the case," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "The girls worked hard and I thought Emily did a nice job in net coming up with a couple of big saves for us. Hoping to get healthy and bounce back for next Wednesday's match at Houghton."

With the loss, Pitt-Bradford falls to 1-2 on the season.

Allegheny scored its first goal just 5:58 into the contest.

Neither team was able to find any offense the rest of the first half, and the Gators took a 1-0 advantage into halftime.

The Gators then doubled their lead 10 minutes into the second half.

Two quick goals in the 73rd and 78th minute rounded out the scoring for the contest.

Emily Bethel made 13 saves on 17 shots on goal while playing all 90 minutes in goal for Pitt-Bradford.

Of the Panthers' 10 shots, Grace Dadzaa made up half of them. Kahlee Bowen fired a pair of shots while Meghan Stuck, Jade Adams and Meghan Thomas shot once.

All five of Dadzaa's shots went on goal.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will have a week off before heading to Houghton next Wednesday.
