PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team worked a 1-1 draw at La Roche in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon.

"We couldn't catch a break with injuries today, and between that and the heat, it was a tough game for us," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "However, we worked hard the entire game and just had a tough time getting a goal. I was really hoping for a win in overtime, but it just did not come together for us."

The Panthers got their goal almost immediately as Meghan Stuck found the back of the net just two minutes into the game.

Not long after at the 11:26 mark, La Roche tied the game.

Pitt-Bradford fired four shots in the half and La Roche shot the ball six times but the two teams went into the break tied 1-1.

The two teams battled back-and-forth in the second half, but the defenses held tough.

La Roche fired seven more shots at the Panther goal in the half and put five on net.

Pitt-Bradford keeper Sarah Dailey made five saves in the half to keep La Roche out of the net the rest of the half. 

The Panthers tested the La Roche keeper twice in the half but also failed to find the back of the net, and the two teams took the 1-1 tie into overtime.

Dailey shined in the first overtime period as she stopped all three shots on goal she faced to send the game into a second overtime period.

Courtney Shade took a shot that went high in the second overtime, and that served as the only offensive chance for either team in the period, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The matchup brought a great deal of physicality as La Roche was whistled for 17 fouls and the Panthers were called for five. Three total yellow cards were awarded.

Dailey made 11 total saves in the game.

Pitt-Bradford fired 12 total shots and put four on goal. Stuck, Shade, Victoria Stump and Kaitlyn Williams each put a shot on net.

The Panthers will be in action next on Wednesday as Penn State-Behrend comes to Kessel Athletics Complex.
