BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team controlled much of the offensive game and earned a shutout win over Medaille, 3-0, Tuesday at the Kessel Athletics Complex.

"We had a tough time finding the back of the net today," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "But in the end, we got the job done, and I'm hopeful this will be a good turning point for us to finish the season strong."

The Panthers held possession in the Medaille attacking zone for most of the game, winning the shot total, 33-3, while putting 18 on goal.

With the win, the Panthers improve to 3-2 in conference play and earn their fifth shutout win of the season.

The two teams went into the break tied, 0-0, with Pitt-Bradford earning many strong chances to score.

Pitt-Bradford shot 16 times and forced the Medaille keeper to make eight saves in the first half.

At the 61-minute mark, the Panthers found the back of the net for the first time as Julie Barton received a cross-field pass from Kaitlyn Donnelly to the left side and finished, putting the Panthers up, 1-0.

Pitt-Bradford's next goal came at the 84-minute mark as Donnelly cut through the defense and made her way to the net, firing the ball past the keeper for her first goal of the season.

The Panthers took one final insurance goal at the 86:54 mark as Kaitlyn Williams fired a shot that went off the post and landed in front of Courtney Shade, who put the rebound in the back of the net.

Medaille would have one final strong chance to get on the board in the final minute of the game as the Mavericks took a corner kick and later fired a long shot that the Panthers' keeper Sarah Dailey was able to catch with two hands.

Today's game was the sixth in which the Panthers scored three or more goals.

All three of Medaille's shots went on goal and Dailey saved them all. She has been credited with all five of the team's clean sheets.

Making up the Panthers' 18 shots on goal were Shade with five, Abby Celesky and Meghan Stuck with three, Barton and Abbey Kalin with two and Donnelly, Meghan Thomas and Delaney Houtz with one apiece.

Pitt-Bradford earned 11 corner kick chances.

With 33 shots, the Panthers set a new season high.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next on Saturday, traveling to La Roche for a 3:15 p.m. kickoff.
