HAMBURG, N.Y. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team lost at Hilbert, 2-1, Wednesday on a wet, rainy afternoon. 

"It wasn't our best performance this afternoon, and unfortunately we had a tough time finding the back of the net," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln. "It's a tough loss to take especially, being a conference game."

The decision for the Panthers comes despite controlling much of the offensive game, holding Hilbert to just five total shots while firing 32 of their own

Pitt-Bradford is now 2-1 through its first three Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference games.

Hilbert got on the board first just eight minutes into the game to take the early 1-0 lead.

Toward the end of the first half, Pitt-Bradford pressed, looking for the back of the net. 

Just before the half, Delaney Houtz fired a hard shot from the point that sailed past the keeper and into the net, her first goal of the season.

Tied 1-1, Hilbert was able to find the back of the net 10 minutes into the second half. 

The Panthers kept the offensive pressure but were unable to equalize as Hilbert took the 2-1 victory.

Of Pitt-Bradford's 32 shots, 11 went on goal. 

Kaitlyn Williams led the way with three while Meghan Thomas had two. Grace Dadzaa, Julie Barton, Abby Celesky, Abbey Kalin, Meghan Stuck and Houtz recorded one each.

In goal, Sarah Dailey faced just three shots on net. Madison Feeser saw her first time in goal of the season, recording 3:03 minutes on the pitch.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next on Saturday as they travel to Franciscan for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
