BRADFORD, Pa. – After five straight road games, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team will play its home opener on Wednesday as Houghton comes to town. 

The Panthers are coming off back-to-back shutouts this past weekend. 

On Saturday, Kaitlyn Williams delivered a corner kick pass in the air to Courtney Shade, who headed the ball into the back of the net just 12 minutes into the game. The goal would hold, as the Panthers' defense would remain strong the rest of the way. 

The Panthers' offense erupted for four goals on Sunday. Once again, the Panthers scored early on a corner kick attempt, as Delaney Houtz fed Meghan Stuck for the early goal. Grace Dadzaa scored off a cross from Kaitlyn Donnelly shortly before halftime, and Abby Celesky capitalized on a penalty kick early in the second half. Shade scored her second goal in as many days just before the end of regulation to put Pitt-Bradford ahead, 4-0. 

For keeping both teams out of net this weekend, goalkeeper Sarah Dailey was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Dailey saved five crucial shots in the tight 1-0 match at Alfred on Saturday and stopped eight shots at Keuka on Sunday.

On the season, Dailey has made 38 saves, which ranks second in the AMCC.

Wednesday's home opener will be the second game of a doubleheader with the Pitt-Bradford men's team. Kickoff for the men's game will be at 3 p.m. while the women's will be shortly after, around 5 p.m.

About Houghton:

• The Houghton Highlanders are in search of their first victory of the 2017 season after starting out the season 0-2.
• Houghton dropped its season opener on Sept. 1 as Mary Washington came away with the tight 1-0 win. Most recently, Brockport bested Houghton with a 4-1 victory over the Highlanders.
• Kealy DeForest owns the lone Highlander goal of the season so far. Off a feed from McKenzie Marti, DeForest finished and put Houghton on the board.
• Sadie Dunnett has played all 180 minutes in goal this season, totaling 18 saves on 28 shots faced.
