CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team fell at Case Western Reserve, 2-0, Saturday evening.

Both Case Western Reserve goals came in the first 16:28 minutes of the game, and its defense would hold off the Panthers the rest of the way.

"We played well today, but unfortunately started out a little flat," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "I was impressed with the second half, as we worked hard and started to look like the team we have the potential to be. Case Western Reserve is a strong team and they gave us a tough match, but I felt like we stepped up and battled strong with them."

Pitt-Bradford fired five shots – all of which in the first half – and put four on goal.

Grace Dadzaa, Kaitlyn Donnelly, Kaitlyn Williams and Abby Celesky all forced the CWR keeper to make saves as they put their shots on goal.

The steadiest offensive attack for the Panthers came between the 21:40-28:52 marks in the first half as all Pitt-Bradford shots on goal came during that time span. 

Sarah Dailey made six saves in goal for the Panthers – five coming in the second half.

Case Western Reserve looked to build on its lead in the closing minutes of the game, but Dailey made a pair of saves in the final four minutes of action to keep the deficit at two.

The Pitt-Bradford defense held off four Case Western Reserve corner kick attempts.

Pitt-Bradford will continue on its season-opening five-game road trip as it travels to Dickinson on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
